BIOGRAPHY

Smoking_Cermony_071Adrian Burragubba is from the Babinburra Clan, of the Wangan and Jagalingou People of Central Queensland, Australia, a part of the îrdi language group.

Adrian is one of Australia's most prominent cultural educators and traditional Aboriginal performers, performing publicly for many years nationally and internationally.

Over the past 20 years, Adrian has performed at numerous venues across the country, performing events for Federal Government departments, Queensland Chamber of Commerce, Queensland Tourism, Perth Mint and many other government and non-government events requiring a "traditional" Aboriginal presence.

He has also travelled to USA, France, Germany and Asia for promotional events representing Aboriginal Australia.

Performances have included Traditional welcomes for International guests, overseas celebrities and many high profile dignitaries.

Adrian has performed live in concert with a number of musical groups including Ganggajang and the Mad Professor. He has performed traditional welcome on stage for artists such as Jack Johnson in Brisbane 2010.

Cultural and spiritual programs have also been held at festivals and public events.

Adrian also performs regularly at weddings, parties and street performance, just for entertainment.

He strives daily to break down the barriers between different cultures and to encourage everyone, from all nationalities and cultures, to learn to respect the need for all Aboriginal people to continue to learn, practice and maintain their own culture.

It is imperative that we join together to stop the exploitation and imitation of the art, the culture and the heritage of Aboriginal Australians.

Stand up against the impersonators. It is stealing!  KEEP IT REAL!

Adrian pays respect to the keepers of the dreaming of the Yidaki, the Yolngu people of North-East Arnhem Land.
